Question & Answer #2

If the vaccine is safe, why can’t kids have it?

Answer:

The COVID -19 vaccine is safe for children aged 5 to 11 years. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved the Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccine for children on 5 December 2021.

Vaccinating children can help reduce community transmission and help prevent children passing the virus onto younger siblings, grandparents and the wider community.

Appointments for children aged 5 to 11 years are available from 10 January 2022 through the Vaccine Clinic Finder.
